Why Time Management Training Matters

Time management is one of the most important skills in today’s busy workplaces - but it’s rarely something people are actually taught.

My time management training gives you or your team clear, practical strategies to take control of your workload, reduce stress, and stay focused on the right tasks.

Poor time management and prioritisation is often the root cause of many workplace issues such as stress, overwhelm and burnout.

This course works very well alongside my stress management training - contact me if you would like a custom in-house programme.

Whether you’re overwhelmed with competing deadlines, struggling to focus on what's important, or simply looking for better ways to stay organised, this training gives you the tools to work more efficiently and confidently.

In my personal productivity and time management training you will:

  • Learn why time management is vital not only for professional success and achivement, but also your personal happiness.

  • Say no and push back on low-value work - without the guilt.

  • Prioritise tasks using proven frameworks.

  • Plan your day and week for maximum focus.

  • Beat procrastination and escape the constant firefighting.

  • Identify and reduce common time-wasters.

  • Stop your email inbox and to-do list running your day.

  • Build positive habits that make work feel easier - and how to break bad habits.

  • Stay organised even during busy, high-pressure periods.

  • Set goals for achievement and happiness in your life and career.

You also receive 3 months of personal email support from me for any follow-up questions.

Time management is not just about getting more done - it's about getting more of the right things done.

What Your Organisation Gains From Time Management

When I deliver time management training in-house for your organisation, I can include specific challenges and time-drains that you may have spotted. For example:

  • Your meeting culture

  • Remote and hybrid working

  • Email and messaging habits

  • Constant interruptions

  • Protecting focus time

  • Digital collaboration tools

  • Processes which could be improved or automated

Individual time management only goes so far if the working environment fights against it. That's why in-person time management training is so popular with organisations who want their teams to be more productive and enjoy lower stress levels.

These additions help your team agree practical, shared ways of working that protect everyone's time - from meeting norms to "focus hours" to smarter communication.

Time Management Course Content

For in-house training the course can be tailored to your specific requirements.

Please contact me to discuss private in-house training, or check out my upcoming public course dates below.

Every participant receives:

  • A comprehensive course workbook packed with notes, exercises, and templates.

  • Step-by-step frameworks and templates to apply what you've learned.

  • Practical examples that can be applied to real workplace challenges straight away.

  • Certificate of Completion after the course.

  • Post-course email support - you can email me with questions for 3 months after the course, answered personally.

Understanding Time Management

Time management starts with clarity - about how you currently work, where time is being lost, and what small changes will make the biggest difference. This module helps you understand your habits, identify common productivity blockers, and build self-awareness around how you use your time. ✔ Recognise the real benefits of managing your time effectively. ✔ Identify your personal time-management strengths and weaknesses. ✔ Understand why people struggle with time and how to overcome common obstacles. ✔ Spot internal and external time-wasters before they derail your day. ✔ Learn my Five Methods for saving time and achieving more in your life.

The Urgent vs Important Trap

Not all tasks are created equal. Many people spend most of their day reacting to urgent tasks instead of focusing on the work that truly creates results. You’ll learn how to prioritise more strategically and shift your time toward high-value activities that are actually important. ✔ Understand and apply the crucial difference between Importance and Urgency in time management. ✔ Use the Eisenhower Matrix to categorise tasks effectively. ✔ Recognise what truly “moves the needle” in your life and career. ✔ Reduce firefighting by avoiding the urgency trap. ✔ Spend more time in the “Important, Not Urgent” zone where real progress happens.

Tools & Techniques for Better Time Management

We look at an array of practical skills and techniques to help you streamline your workload, remain focused, and avoid unnecessary stress. You’ll explore different approaches to managing tasks, interruptions, and work habits so you can stay productive even during busy periods. ✔ Delegate and outsource effectively to free up valuable time. ✔ Use Kahler’s Five Drivers to understand you and your team's personal productivity patterns. ✔ Stop multitasking and switch to more effective single-task focus. ✔ Handle interruptions and minimise distractions. ✔ Communicate clearly and assertively with a proven 4-step system. ✔ Run shorter, more structured, more productive meetings.

Strategies for Effective Time Management

Here you’ll learn how to plan, prioritise, and organise your work in a way that reduces stress and increases output. You will also learn why we procrastinate along with techniques to mitigate it. This is the practical “how-to” section packed with simple but powerful frameworks you can apply immediately. ✔ Manage email effectively so it stops consuming your entire day. ✔ Apply the Pareto Principle (80/20 Rule) to focus on high-impact tasks. ✔ Set goals and plan your day/week with clarity and purpose. ✔ Overcome procrastination using practical, psychology-backed techniques. ✔ Choose the right type of to-do list to stay focused and organised.

Stress and Implementing Good Habits

This final module of our time management training focuses on long-term change - how to make great habits last and how to manage your time in a healthy, sustainable way. You’ll explore habits, mindset, resilience, and the link between time management and stress. ✔ Choose the right tools and systems for your personality and workflow. ✔ Understand the connection between time pressure and stress. ✔ Maintain a healthy work-life balance with simple, sustainable practices. ✔ Understand how good and bad habits form. ✔ Build lasting productive habits and break bad ones using the Habit Loop. ✔ Reflect and refine your time-management approach for continuous improvement.

Meet Your Trainer
Mark Baglow

Hi, I'm Mark. When you book this course, you get me – not an associate, not a script read off a slide. Your enquiry and training isn't bounced around a dozen different people - you always deal directly with me.

I don't just teach theory in my courses. All of the time management and productivity techniques I will show you are practical, proven strategies which I use to help me in my own work. I struggled with time management for years until I started to understand how it actually works. Then it clicked.

I've spent fifteen years in the world of education, training and development. During my career I learned the thing that still shapes every course I run: people don't remember what you tell them, they remember what they do.

My training is practical, hands-on and refreshingly jargon-free – real tools you'll use on Monday morning, not dry theory you'll have forgotten by lunch.

I'm a certified DISC analyst, and I've designed and delivered leadership, management and communication training across sectors including education, software and financial services.

I'm based in Birmingham – right in the middle of the country – so I can reach you easily for in-person training anywhere in the UK, or even internationally! I also provide live online training if that suits you better.
